Mujeres Poderosas "Powerful Woman"
Diana Arreola is a community educator with a local non-profit organization. Diana is also an enthusiast about helping and empowering women. As a result, she started a Facebook group for empowering women called Mujeres Poderosas. Additionally, Diana also has an online course geared to her work of empowering women.
Diana's Origin and Her Time in Taos
Although Diana grew up in Taos, she was born in Chihuahua, Mexico. Taos has been a considerable part of her life, and she's been here for about 19 years now. The name of Diana's Facebook group, Mujeres Poderosas, actually means powerful women in Spanish.
The Essence of Mujeres Poderosas for Diana
Diana describes a powerful woman as someone who is intelligent, capable, strong, and resilient. She started the group because she felt the trauma and abuse that women had been undergoing through generations. Therefore, her group inspires women to remember that they are strong, resilient, intelligent, strong and capable.
The Goal behind Mujeres Poderosas
Initially, Diana started the group to connect to like-minded women. She wanted to provide a safe space for feminine identifying persons to come together and express their thoughts and share their ideas. The group was also to help women look deeper into their spirituality and femininity.
How Diana Arreola Empowers Herself
As a way of empowering herself, Diana is always enthusiastic about learning. To her, education is a form of liberation. She likes to spend time with books, learning, and teaching herself new things. Besides that, Diana also learns to practice her autonomy – practicing what she teaches. Setting and sticking to boundaries is also another way she empowers herself and other women.
Diana's Strengths and Weaknesses
As a woman, Arreola feels she can get deeply in tune with both her sexuality and sensuality. This is one of her strengths as she can feel her body and emotions. Her ability to cry, moan, and do things according to her way makes her feel strong.Being in control is Diana's greatest strengths, and being able to feel and hear herself is more luxurious. But ironically, Arreola's greatest weakness is expressing herself in front of large groups of people. Because of how society perceives women as quiet, she grew up to that image and struggled with it for quite some time.
Her Goals for the Rest of 2020
Currently, Diana is updating her online course. This one will be a longer course for 12 weeks than her previous course, which was only seven weeks. Being more mindful is also another thing that Diana is looking to accomplish for the rest of 2020. The year brought her distractions and intensity, and now she wants to slow down and be more thankful for the little things.
How She Promotes Healing and Growth
Diana does this by being the role model to emulate what healing and growth look like. Also, she promotes healing and growth via her social media platforms. Arreola posts about those things and provides people with a safe space to heal.

Diana's Message to Taos
She'd love all women of Taos to know that they are powerful, and no one should tell them otherwise, even themselves.
