His Last Four Years’ Experience in Taos
According to Eddie, the last four years have been a really fun experience for him. His first year at Taos High was a lot more than he could handle because Eddie expected to be like in Middle School. However, Eddie found out that there was more to do and learned a lot from experience.
The Senior’s Experience During COVID
Eddie admits that life as a senior during the pandemic isn’t exciting at all. With online schooling, Eddie expressed that he has a more challenging time focusing. But because he also works with his father at home, Eddie feels that he has learned a lot at home. He gets more hands-on experience and education when he works with his dad.Aside from education, the pandemic has messed up Eddie’s chances of enjoying his senior year. This includes missing out on prom, sports activities, and just the entire experience of being a senior in school. His daily routine isn’t that complicated because there isn’t much to do while learning from home. He wakes up a little bit before his class starts and learns what he needs to before moving on to doing other things.Depending on the day and the classes he needs to take, Eddie takes time to exercise during lunchtime.
Finding the Right College During the Pandemic
Eddie admits that finding the right college with COVID around hasn’t been an easy experience at all. This is because he was hoping to run and swim more to get better scholarships going into college.Although he does have a swimming scholarship, Eddie feels that it would have been better to participate in sporting events to better the scholarship support.
Eddie’s College Choice
After high school, Eddie plans to be a student at the Adam State in Colorado. He visited the college back when he was a freshman for the cross-country sporting event and really liked the college. Besides that, Eddie has also visited several of his friends in Adam State college who also went there to run. They have also been a significant part of convincing him to join the college in addition to his reasons.Eddie hopes that he joins college COVID free with things back to normal again. He also plans to make more memories in college and grow as a person in sports and education. Eddie doesn’t feel sad about leaving because Adam State is just within the vicinity of Taos.
Eddie’s Message to Fellow Seniors
To his fellow seniors, Eddie urges them to fight on because he believes that anything is possible if you put your mind to it. Therefore, people shouldn’t give up regardless of their struggles. Instead, people should find a reason to keep fighting and seek support from friends, family, or religion. He hopes other seniors get through this year well and just have fun however possible.
