Meet Lynda Ferris
Lynda has been living in Taos for 18 years now, and she's been putting together the Astrology Cookbook Series, which includes one for each Zodiac sign.
What Got Lynda Started
Lynda started creating the astrology cookbooks about 7-8 years ago when she worked with a longtime astrologer friend. The two chatted more about the rulership concept as they progressed to understand it better. They also talked about food and its relation to astrology, which prompted Lynda to make the astrology cookbook series.
Her Training Process
Other than cooking her entire life, Lynda has had no formal training for cooking. She basically started cooking when she was young, and it has been with her ever since. Moreover, Lynda has an artistic background. That's what she is using in these cookbooks to come up with meaningful and informative content in her cookbooks.
Lynda's Meal Habits as a Child
Lynda states that she is a Taurus, and Taurus people tend to enjoy familiar foods and consume something they like multiple times. As a child, Lynda's favorite meal consisted of many different things and many the same things, considering that her horoscope was a Taurus. While in elementary, Lynda carried peanut butter and jelly sandwiches to school for a whole year. Afterward, she took Bologna and lettuce sandwiches for another entire year, and nothing much changed whenever her mother tried to switch things up a bit.
Her Favorite Meal as an Adult
Lynda enjoys different meals depending on the different days and occasions. She can be a Gemini eater, Sagittarian, and still a Taurus eater. To her, the favorite food mostly depends on the day and what she's feeling at the moment. Even when she goes out to eat, she will usually be ordering the same thing as well.
Lynda's Book Designing Process
The book designing process was a long one for Lynda, and it goes back to understanding each astrology sign's characteristics. Additionally, Lynda also found and incorporated rulership books and their influence on our lives. From there, she could easily decide the destination books that different foods had to end up in for better results.
Zodiac Capricorn – Lynda's December Recipe
As you may know, Capricorn is a sign that starts from December 21 and goes through January, which is why the December recipe falls into Lynda's Capricorn book. This is usually and a non-productive season full of cold and darkness. But because it's the holidays, Capricorn is the closest sign to Christmas. As a result, Lynda's Capricorn recipes include ingredients that are deep, dark, and dry. The foods here are ruling root vegetables, dried foods, or dark and brown types of food.
The Forbidden Recipe
This recipe features the forbidden rice, which is black grain rice revered in China. It's from way back in the day, but the forbidden rice is full of earthliness and nutrition. The rice is heavy/thick, earthly, and very tasty as well.An additional ingredient is bacon to add a bit of flavor to the rice, but the latter does have its taste and flavor worked out already.
COVID's Impact on Lynda's Cooking
Usually, Lynda is a standalone figure, so this pandemic hasn't affected her that much. She now has to wear a mask and shop slowly due to the rearrangements done in most grocery stores.Lynda spent most of this time purchasing and experimenting with different ingredients and recipes to develop the right recipes for the books. It wasn't easy as some failed while others worked, but she's now found a productive rhythm with the process.
The Importance of this Collection to Lynda
For Lynda, completing this collection of cookbooks is the ultimate goal since it's her passion, so she loves what she is doing. She's learned more about food, and the process has made her a wholesome person. Moreover, astrology is an essential part of her life, and she hopes that she can give answers to people in need. She will effectively achieve this through her astrology cookbooks.
